Galaxiki Community BlogSubscribe via RSS Mysterious Ancient UFO PicturesJanuary 21, 2008by joskirps  There hasn't been any UFO or alien related post on this blog yet, so I think it's about time;-) Today I'd like to show you some of the most outstanding "ancient UFO" pictures - images of UFOs that have been painted hundreds (or even thousands) of years ago, which means that they cannot be influenced by the 20th century UFO hype. Of course most of these ancient UFO pictures were probably simply inspired by unusual aerial or astronomical phenomena such as comets, meteors, planets, planetary conjunctions or atmospheric optical phenomena, and interpreted to have been supernatural events by the people of that time (angels or demons for example, as nobody was talking about aliens back then...).Some of the ancient UFO pictures seem to show flying saucer-like object in the skies, or machines that look like airplanes or alien spaceships, and some of those images are really hard to interpret. Nevertheless it cannot be confirmed that these images really show what we'd call UFOs, and so they remain quite mysterious.  Theories claiming that these UFO pictures show extraterrestrial visitors are generally called "Ancient astronaut theories", supposing that our Earth has been visited by intelligent extraterrestrial beings a long time ago. Some of these alien astronaut theories even claim that gods from most religions have their origins in alien visitors, and that even some technological developments have been influenced by aliens too. One of the most popular writers supporting such ancient astronaut theories is probably Erich von Däniken, whose works have been translated into many languages. Some notable scientists, like Carl Sagan for example, considered that the Earth may indeed have been visited by intelligent extraterrestrials in the past, even if they don't support common ancien astronaut theory points of views and don't comment on the ancient UFO paintings.
