About Galaxiki
Galaxiki is a Wiki based website for science fiction and astronomy fans. Each wiki page corresponds to a solar system, a star, a planet, a moon or any other object in our virtual galaxy. Users and visitors can browser the galaxy and visit any location. The galaxiki world is financed by private donations, object aquisitions* and (minimalistic) advertising. Membership is free, Galaxiki users are called "Galaxicians", they contribute to the Galaxiki world by editing steller information.
*) By default most solar systems in the Galaxiki are locked (or "closed"), so they cannot be instantly edited. To make them editable they must be "freed" by paying a small fee (around 10 Euro or 12 USD, or even less). This is the way most of the Galaxiki services are financed. If you "free" a solar system you can decide if you open it for the community, if you keep it as a private system or if you dedicate it to someone for example.

The Galaxiki website and all of its services are free, except if you wish to purchase your own solar system or if you wish to buy something from one of our shops. Therefore we rely on YOUR help too to keep this cool site running and to continue improving it. Find more information about how you can help us on our community page.
Advertising
We try to run this site using only an absolute minimum of advertising (most of the ads are Google adsense boxes or links to our own shops). If you wish to advertise on our site you may do so by placing a banner onto the official sponsors page.
